Immediate Post-Procedure Expectations
- Color Intensity: Right after the procedure, your brows will appear significantly darker and sharper than expected. This is normal and temporary. The color will soften in appearance by 30-50% during healing.
- Healing Process: Over the next 10 days, the brows will begin to fade. True color may take up to 6-8 weeks to emerge. During healing, color may appear to disappear temporarily due to layers of skin forming. This is also normal.
Day 1 (Appointment Day)
- Blotting: Gently blot the area with a clean, wet wipe every hour for 4 hours to remove excess lymph fluid. This helps prevent hardening of lymphatic fluids. Continue as needed throughout the day until oozing stops.
- Before Bedtime: Wash the area with a gentle cleanser and dry with a paper towel. Do not apply ointment until the next day.
Day 2
- Common Symptoms (1-10 days):
- Redness
- Minimal swelling
- Tenderness
- Flaking, dryness, and itching
- Washing Instructions:
- Wash brows gently in the morning and evening using lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap.
- Do not scrub, rub, wipe, or scratch; use patting motions only.
- Once scabbing or flaking begins, stop washing and let the brows dry heal naturally.
- Avoid cleansers with acids (glycolic, lactic, salicylic, AHA, BHA) as these may irritate and fade the pigment.
- Drying & Ointment Application:
- Ensure brows are fully dry before applying any ointment to avoid infection.
- Use a paper towel to pat dry completely (lint-free to avoid residue).
- Apply a thin layer of provided ointment with clean fingertips. Brows should not look greasy; if they do, use less.
Day 3 – 10 (Dry Healing Phase)
- Applying Ointment:
- Use a rice-sized amount of ointment 2-3 times daily, applying just enough to lightly cover scabs (if present).
- Pat lightly with clean fingertips or a q-tip—never rub or apply excessive amounts, as too much can block the skin from breathing.
- If you apply too much, gently blot off excess with a paper towel.
- Care Tips:
- In the shower, tilt your head back to avoid shampoo/conditioner on brows.
- Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning (natural or tanning beds) for 4 weeks.
- Avoid heavy sweating, exercise, sports, swimming, saunas, steam rooms, jacuzzi, and long hot showers for 10 days.
- Avoid makeup and skincare products on the brows, including foundation and powders, during this period.
- Avoid acids and exfoliants on the brows for 30 days to prevent premature fading.
- Sleep on a clean pillowcase, and try not to sleep on your face to prevent rubbing the treated area.
- Keep hair away from your brows to reduce the risk of infection.
Avoid for 4 Weeks:
- Skin Treatments: Refrain from facials, microdermabrasion, microneedling, peels, or laser treatments, as they may darken, lighten, or distort pigment.
- Tinting Brows: Wait 2 weeks before tinting brows.
- Alcohol: Avoid excess alcohol as it may slow healing.
- Airborne Debris: Avoid tasks with heavy cleaning and dust, like garage or storage cleaning.
Post-Healing Brows
- Touch-Up Session: After healing, brows may appear lighter and possibly uneven due to skin regeneration, which is natural. Schedule a touch-up 4-8 weeks post-procedure to refine color, density, shape, and symmetry (additional charges apply).
- Healing Variability: Healed results vary based on individual factors like age, immune system, and lifestyle. Following post-care is crucial for the best results.
